1. A Halloween theme party can mean many things to different people, so you have to narrow it down into a sub-theme to be more specific.
2. The first decision you should make is exactly what sub-theme you are going to make your party. Is it going to be historical figures, movie characters or the more traditional monsters and witches.
3. Cut your invitations out from card and make pumpkins or a witches hat from it. Be creative! State clearly that anybody who isn’t dressed up when they arrive will be charged admission on the door.
4. For costumes, I will assume you have gone for a traditional monsters theme. There are dozens of costumes and Im sure you’ve seen the many possibilities when out shopping. Some good ones are; zombies, vampires, witches, demons, cats, ghosts, wear wolves, Frankenstein and Freddy Kruger.
5. Fashion some lanterns out of pumpkins and place them on the path and on the trees leading up to your house.
6. Replace all of your light bulbs with either red or green ones to add to the atmosphere, making it eerie. Also place plenty of candles around the room.
7. Make or buy in some figures or models of witches, gargoyles, wear wolves, vampires, ghosts, zombies, mummies, black cats and other monsters. Spread them around your venue to keep your guests on edge. Also body parts and fake blood will create a chill feeling.
8. Some songs you could play would be; Thriller, Wear wolves of London, Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice, Monster Mash and People are Strange.
9. No Halloween theme party would be complete without sweets. Make sure you stock up with plenty of them!
10. Bake a monster themed cake and decorate with witches or vampires. Top off with an edible spider. Get some monster shaped cookie cutters for your cookies and decorate in a similar way.
